Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P)’s Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES) is currently seeking a full-time tenure Professor in International Law.

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Morocco is a recently established non-profit university, with the purpose of promoting high-quality education and research to a pan African audience. It aims to contribute to the development of African countries through an ambitious mission, seeking to train the next generation of economics, social, scientific, and business leaders of the Continent. The UM6P has several campuses situated in different parts of Morocco. As a pan-African institution for higher education, UM6P is striving to attract students from all African countries to join its undergraduate and graduate programs. To strengthen its current academic team, the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES) is hiring a new tenure-tracked professor in International Law.

Job location: The brand-new campus of the FGSES,is in Rabat, Morocco’s capital city. Rabat is a modern and well-connected city, and professors here enjoy a high quality of life with great weather year-round. The UM6P also has modern campuses in several other cities in Morocco, including a central campus in Ben Guerir (60km, 45 minutes by train from Marrakech).

Job Description and Duties:
For this position, FGSES seeks high potential candidates with an impeccable track record in:
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in International Law,
- Being able to teach other disciplines related to public law in general,
- Publishing articles in relevant journals,
- Being a proactive learner and possessing strong teamwork skills,
- Keeping up with developments and innovations in his/her field of expertise,
- Supervising undergraduate and post-graduate students,
- Playing a significant role in the design, development, and planning of courses and programs within the subject area as required,
- Serving on relevant committees,
- Attending conferences,
- Assisting the FGSES in raising funds for its Research Center,
- Maintain office hours as required by the Faculty’s rules.

In addition to the above tasks, the candidate will be expected to carry out the duties of the position in accordance with FGSES policies, values and ethical standards.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate must hold a PHD degree in International Law or any of its subfields, as well as an outstanding track record as a teacher. He/She must also have a strong record in conducting successful research activities in their area of expertise. Finally, the candidate must be able to develop innovative approaches to learning and teaching as needed, as well as integrating technology into his/her lectures, online teaching, and using other emerging technologies.

Appointment Term and Compensation: The appointment term will be a tenure track, starting on September 2021. The University offers a generous expatriate contract with a competitive salary scale and allowance that meet international standards and are commensurate with experience. The University also provides relocation assistance when the successful candidate moves to Rabat in Morocco where the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES) of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is located.
