Job Description

The Student Financial Aid Office is seeking three Financial Aid Specialists. This position supports the office by assisting with the administration of the student loan programs, as well as the awarding of student payments and institutional scholarships.

Two of the positions will report directly to the Assistant Director of Processing and Loans. This team provides quality, consistent services to students in processing their institutional or private student loans.

One position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Federal Processing. This team performs essential verification functions for need-based aid and researches the suspense file.

What You Will Do
• Maintain a working knowledge of financial aid processes & software.
• Scan documents with emphasis on speed & accuracy.
• Organize & manage to file documents & reports.
• Create & implement efficiencies as warranted. Complete special projects as assigned.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all financial aid guidelines, particularly those regarding scholarships.
• Review & award scholarships within specifications, including researching documents & awarding summer aid.
• Evaluate & disseminate all incoming mail, which requires knowledge of financial aid, including the ability to review documents & make decisions regarding how various documents impact different aspects of financial aid.
• Deliver outgoing mail & ensure resources are used accurately and effectively.
• Maintain student files according to retention policies.
• Maintain training notes regarding all applicable procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
• Ability to comply with University policies
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
