The chemistry department is seeking a tutor and peer mentor for the summer general chemistry II (Chem-010 and Chem-011) course. The tutor will be responsible for holding office hours to assist students with homework problems, discuss techniques for problem-solving, and provide guidance for best practices in study techniques and habits for general chemistry. Office hours will be held 10-15 hours per week in the afternoons from June-02-July 18. The exact days and hours will be selected by the tutor in consultation with the course instructor based on the lecture and lab schedule and the needs of the students in the class.

Candidates must be a student or recent graduate in a STEM field with demonstrated success in honing their problem-solving techniques in STEM courses. Candidates should also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels in chemistry.

Experience and Qualifications
Demonstrated high marks in advanced chemistry courses.
Good communication skills.
Experience tutoring students.
