The SAP Reimplementation team at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is looking for a Software Engineering and Programming Associate to be part of the team that supports and enhances the HR/Benefits/Payroll integrations and custom developed applications. This role requires the person to be able to utilize their SAP ABAP (required) and SuccessFactors (preferred) technical competencies and business expertise to design, develop and support BCM’s HR/Benefits/Payroll internal and external integrations, custom reports and custom applications. This position will engage directly with business stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and provide improved solutions. Assists in gathering business requirements and produce resulting technical program specifications. Develops and maintains programs (HR-ABAP) and applications in support of SAP/SuccessFactors and other HR related processes utilized by Baylor College of Medicine. Assist with SAP/SuccessFactors upgrades, interfaces and new implementations, as well as the maintainance an development of applications that may require JavaScript, PostgreSQL, SAML2, PostgreSQL and Azure AppServices knowledge. Should be well versed with SAP Cloud Integrations, able to create Iflows, monitor and make enhancements to the existing Artifacts. Hands-on experience in developing ABAP programs belonging to all the SUb-modules of HR ( Org mgmt, Pers Adm, Time , Benefits and Payroll)

The team at Baylor College of Medicine is focused on transformation projects which leverage SAP technologies to transform and simplify operational processes, providing better outcomes and information. As part of the team, this position will play a key role in maintaining and supporting technical components of SAP/SuccessFactors, and its integration with other systems, applications, vendors, etc. This position is located at O'Quinn Towers, in the Texas Medical Center and reports to the Director, Business Applications.


Job Duties

  • Meet with Lead Solutions Architect, other Software Engineering and Programming Associates, consultants, and customers to discuss requirements, program specifications, technical approach and time frame
  • Assist in gathering business requirements and produce resulting technical program specifications
  • Assist with SAP/SuccessFactors upgrades, interfaces and new implementations, as well as the maintenance and development of applications that require HR ABAP, and may also require JavaScript, PostgreSQL, SAML2, PostgreSQL and Azure AppServices knowledge
  • Prepare all necessary program documentation, including test data in support of test plans
  • Design, code, test, and debug programs with an ongoing focus on performance optimization
  • Follow established programming standards and procedure
  • Perform other on-call duties, as required
  • Monitor the Integrations between SAP and Successfactors & vendor systems to rectify any connection or file transfer issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems or equivalent technical experience
  • Four or more years of ABAP experience
  • Problem solving and analysis including programming logic
  • Experience with developing program specifications
  • Ability to use the following within SAP: ABAP Workbench, List processing, BDC processing, Function modules, Logical databases, Data dictionary, Transaction processinig, SAPScript, BADIs, ALE, EDI, BSPs, Java and/or XML - Experience in JavaScript, PostgreSQL, SAML2, PostgreSQL and Azure AppServices is a plus
  • Requires exceptional analytical and communication skills and the should be regarded as a team player, have strong and proven organizational skills, and have a personal drive to be their best
