Are you an experienced management accountant with a demonstrably high level of planning, forecasting, management reporting and business partnering skills? Can you interpret large volumes of data and communicate strategic aims using excellent negotiating and influencing skills?
We are seeking to appoint a senior role in the Management Accounting team to lead the University’s Planning, Forecasting and Reporting processes. You will also play an important role in the preparation of the University accounts and will lead the completion of statutory financial returns to our Higher Education Regulatory Bodies.
In leading financial planning and management reporting activity you will need to have strong business partnering skills and an ability to assess and highlight key financial issues and challenges. Validation and accuracy are critical and must be embedded throughout all activities; you will be expected to interpret large volumes of data and report key impacts and messages at a strategic level.
You will be an excellent communicator and have a high degree of technical expertise and professionalism. You will have a pivotal role in the coordination of information and data from the Faculties and Services by leading and coordinating aspects of the work with colleagues across the Finance service, and as such successful relationship building with Finance managers and their teams is integral to delivery. Experience of working in a Central Finance team is preferable. Outputs will be required under pressure and are required to be timely and accurate.
As a member of the management accounting team you will be expected to set professional standards, motivate, support, and develop the other team members and the wider University finance community.
This vacancy is within the Finance Service but is based within the Management Accounting team. However, should the business need arise, and after full consultation with you, you may be deployed elsewhere within Finance.
