Job Description

The University of Virginia Department of Art seeks applications to fill a non-tenure track Lecturer in Cinema position for a one year appointment. Courses will include a combined intermediate/advanced cinema class for a 2 course teaching load (1 combined class each semester).

The Art Department at UVA is focused on undergraduate studio art education within a liberal arts college. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and successful experience in the classroom as an instructor of record.

Requirements for this position include a relevant terminal degree (MFA) along with a strong exhibition history and evidence of current and ongoing creative practice. Teaching experience in cinema is required.

The appointment begins with the fall term of 2021, with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2021. Applicants must have an MFA, the required terminal degree at the time of appointment.
