Job Description

The Adelman lab in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School seeks an Epigenomics Specialist Research Associate to help us define gene dysregulation in cancer cells, using epigenomic and transcriptomic approaches. The successful candidate will be a member of a dynamic research team, performing both wet- laboratory experiments and bioinformatic analysis of genomic data sets. Specific projects will include molecular biology techniques such as cloning, genome engineering with CRISPR-Cas9, reporter assays, viability and proliferation assays and RT-qPCR. The project will also involve exposure to more complex, cutting-edge techniques such as PRO-seq, rapid protein degradation using degron tags, and small molecule screens. Experience with analysis of next-generation sequencing data, or experience in R or Python is a plus. Other responsibilities include careful record keeping, assisting with overall lab organization and presenting research findings in manuscripts, posters and oral seminars. For more details on research in the Adelman lab, please visit: https://adelman.hms.harvard.edu/ The preferred candidate would possess: • A PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology or a similar field • 2-3 years of additional experience studying epigenetics or gene regulation Additional preferred skills: • Track record of independence in research projects • Ability to work within a team environment • Good presentation and written communication skills • An interest in multidisciplinary research and therapeutics discovery This is a 2-year term position, with potential for renewal.
