The University of Virginia, McIntire Department of Music, seeks applications for a one-year position as a Lecturer in Horn. This is a part-time (.50 FTE) appointment. Responsibilities include: Principal Horn for the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia; additional performance duties (such as chamber music); coach weekly orchestra horn sectional; coach chamber music; develop a studio of up to ten hours/week of undergraduate horn students. Interest in interacting with one or more additional areas of our program, such as jazz, early music, new music, or marching band, may also be taken into consideration. This is a one-year, non-renewable non-tenure-track appointment.

Applicants must have a master’s in music or commensurate experience by the date of appointment; doctorate in music is preferred. Successful teaching and recruiting experience at the university level and evidence of significant experience as a solo and ensemble performer is desired.
