Are you an independent researcher with an interest in speech perception? Do you have experience of designing and running listening experiments, and analysing their results? Do you want to contribute to an ongoing project on speech tempo perception funded by the Leverhulme Trust?
You will contribute to an ongoing Leverhulme Trust funded research project on speech tempo perception by English listeners, led by Dr Leendert Plug (Principal Investigator) in collaboration with Dr Rachel Smith (University of Glasgow, Co-Investigator). The project started in September 2017 and has been suspended for the past year due to Covid-19. Bringing the project to completion will involve running several listening experiments. You will contribute to experimental design, prepare stimuli and experimental procedures, recruit participants, run the experimental sessions on campus in Leeds where possible, or oversee online testing, and contribute to analysing the results.
You will have completed a PhD in phonetics or psycholinguistics, with an emphasis on speech perception. Experience of designing and running listening experiments is essential, as are strong data management and quantitative analysis skills.
