Job Summary
The Nuclear Electronics Technician will provide electronics support for nuclear engineering radiation laboratories as well as research laboratories, including undergraduate and graduate teaching and research facilities in maintenance, operation and repair of radiation detection and measurement instrumentation. Assist the lab director and reactor supervisor in operations of the nuclear engineering laboratories, including operation of the PUR-1 reactor and design of new instrumentation and equipment.


A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or related field
A minimum of 1 year of experience in design, assembly, maintenance, use and repair of both analog and digital laboratory measurement and analysis equipment in teaching and research laboratories
Experience with a variety of test equipment
Experience with creating computer generated circuit board masters
Ability to read and interpret schematics, troubleshoot and repair analog and digital electronic systems to the component level
Ability to design, solder and populate printed circuit boards
Ability to maintain complete and accurate documentation of work performed
Obtain a good working knowledge of analog and digital oscilloscopes, analog and digital volt meters, amplifiers, signal generators, power supplies, electronic and electro mechanical design
Must have the ability to earn reactor operator license in 1 - 2 years.
Priority will be given to past work in: 1) the military (electronics or reactor), 2) electronics repair, 3) radiation measurement, 4) radioactive materials


Experience with digital Instrument and Control system
