Job Description

Summary

The Hospital Services Liaison is an integral position to the Lions Eye Bank. The position works to provide professional and public education information to ensure comprehensive hospital and community participation on the eye donation program. The position also represents SightLife in regards to hospital partners, dontation partners and the eye donation program.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement hospital account improvement plans to meet established goals of region.
  • Cultivate & maintain effective donor program relationships with hospitals, healthcare professionals, and other donation partners in region to maximize donation program.
  • Partners with hospitals and healthcare professionals for continuous improvement of donation program, including increased conversion rate of potential eye donors and donation partner satisfaction.
  • Follow direction of Supervisor to ensure proper coordination of all Hospital and Family Services activities.
  • Present and document educational in-services for specified professional and public audiences.
  • Assist designated facilities in development of policies & procedures related to eye donation and recovery.
  • Gathers referral, potential, and actual donor statistics for each assigned hospital account and for assigned region. Completes data analysis, recommendations, and reporting of information to each account.
  • Problem solves before, during and after actual donor cases. Provides and receives feedback from medical review coordinators, transplant donor coordinators, recovery technicians and family services.
  • Maintains accurate and current donation partner profile information in database.
  • Routinely updates Supervisor concerning service area activities.
  • Maintains appropriate cooperative efforts with other regional procurement and transplant programs.
  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned
  • A personal commitment to organ, tissue and eye donation required.
  • In all daily activities, strive to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Lions Eye Bank of Texas at Baylor College of Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health care, public relations, communications, or marketing. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, public relations, communications or marketing field.
