Job Description:
The successful candidate for the position of Financial Analyst will assist in the maintenance of the University financial results records for Academic Affairs to ensure complete and accurate financial data and responsible to prepare and maintain compliance with internal and external policies and procedures. Monitor the financial results and maintain effective internal controls and policies. Prepare, evaluate, perform ongoing program assessments in a timely and accurate manner and make recommendations to Management to maximize efficient and effective results.

Responsibilities Include:

Responsible to assist Executive Director with budget analysis, management, and preparation.
Work and interact closely with the Academic Affairs personnel with monitoring budgets, operational needs, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
Responsible for responding to and preparing ad hoc financial analysis necessary to respond to internal and external financial information requests, including program assessments as deemed appropriate by Provost.
Prepare necessary budget transfer and journal entries to record transactional data in the general ledger. Analyze results monthly, quarterly and at year end during close process. Ensure accurate and timely reporting and respond to inquiries within and outside the organization in an effective manner.
Support all Academic Affairs personnel relating to budget transfers, journal entries, expense vouchers, travel reimbursements, p-card reports, and SHUeBuy.
Assist with preparation and analysis of internal reporting of the Academic Cost Study and Graduate Program P&L.
Evaluate internal controls on a regular basis and work with all units to ensure collaborative and coordinated efforts
Provide support to supervisor with analysis and ad hoc projects.
All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA a plus, but not required and 5-8 years related experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Advanced working knowledge with Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Knowledge of accounting software programming desired.
Ability to work and learn independently and adapt to new responsibilities and challenges.
