We are seeking a Research Technician for the Biological Screening and Development Core (BSDC) in the Warren Family Center for Drug Discovery (WFCDD) at the University of Notre Dame.

BSDC is a state-of-the-art shared research facility established in the Warren Family Center and offers multidisciplinary cutting-edge drug discovery and translational biomedical research services for the Notre Dame investigators and also for external users. Using advanced equipment and automation services, we provide a full range of high-throughput pre-clinical screening (ADMET assays) for small molecule development; these assays include: Plasma Stability, Microsomal Stability, Hepatocyte Stability, Caco-2 Permeability and transport, PAMPA, Blood-Brain Barrier Permeability, Plasma protein binding, Protein-protein interaction, ligand-protein interaction, Primary Hepatocyte Toxicity, hERG Interaction, CYP Inhibition, CYP Induction and AMES Mutagenicity Test. The laboratory also offers a number of assays for biomedical research that includes western blotting, qRT-PCR, DNA and RNA gel electrophoresis, ELISA, AlphaLISA, and cellular metabolic phenotype assays. Core major instrumentations include: cell culture facilities for both mammalian and bacterial cells, Biomek i7 liquid handler, Cytation 5 multimode micro plate reader, Cytation 5 microplate imager, Nanotempere Monolith and Tycho, Seahorse XF96 analyzer, AKTA Pure FPLC and LC-MS/MS.

The Research Technician, under supervision of the Core Director, will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory duties including ordering and maintaining lab supplies, preparing samples for analyses, conducting in vitro ADME assays, operating and maintaining instruments, and analyzing data.

This is a limited-term position for up to four years (to August, 2025) with possible extension, contingent on the availability of funding.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a scientifically relevant field. Coursework in pharmaceutical, biological, biomedical sciences is preferred.

Three to four years experience with DMPK/ADME assays and ELISAs (required). Experience in cell culture techniques including culture, maintenance, and storage of mammalian cell lines (required). Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other Windows-based software (required). Experience with automation liquid handler (preferred).
