Are you interested in fulfilling a project exploring the pedagogy of digital assessment?
We are inviting applications for a commissioned LITE Fellowship to join the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE).
LITE embodies the University’s commitment to excellence and innovation in education through its investment in a community of Fellows, giving colleagues the opportunity to develop and implement projects and establish a culture of high-quality teaching innovation, scholarship, and leadership. This Fellowship will provide the pedagogical underpinnings to support the Digital Assessment at Leeds project. One key element of the new Assessment Strategy is that all assessment will be digital by default. However, it is essential that we understand the pedagogical implications of this strategy by taking a rigorous and research-informed approach.
As well as carrying out your project, you will be expected to contribute to LITE’s scholarly community, provide content towards the digital and external-facing profiles, and act as an ambassador at internal and external events. You will evaluate and disseminate the impact of your project internally through research progress showcases and externally to develop the practice, pedagogy, and reputation of student education at the University.
Details of the Fellowship
The Fellowship will be funded at the equivalent level of 40% of current salary and may be delivered over 1 or 2 years. The funding may be taken as secondment from current duties or a portion can be used to buy in, for example, a research assistant. Both academic and professional service staff are invited to apply. The project must include a contribution from the student body in an advisory or partnership role.
An allocation of funds will be available to support your project, e.g. events, materials, travel and subsistence, conference attendance, dissemination activities and equipment. The funding should be justified in your application and, as a guide, we expect to award approximately £500-1000 for each 10% secondment.
Support will be provided by the LITE professional service team, including access to a resident research assistant with experience of pedagogical research techniques and student facilitators. You will also be allocated a Dean of Student Education as your project sponsor to support you with dissemination and impact.
