The School of Social Work is seeking an Undergraduate Affairs Coordinator to join our team. The Undergraduate Affairs Coordinator is responsible for coordination of undergraduate recruitment and retention efforts, review of BSW and iBSW applications, and working closely with other members of student affairs team in providing support and mentorship to students and implementation of student programming events. Provides back-up advising and coordination of services to holistically support the personal, educational, and professional development of undergraduate Social Work students. Functions as a member of the Student Affairs team in the Academic Programs unit within the School of Social Work.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
BSW and iBSW Recruitment
• Design and execute recruitment strategy with the supervision from the Director of Student Affairs, which includes both in-person and virtual recruiting activities.
• Coordinate, execute, and attend recruitment events (e.g. Orange and Blue Days, inter-university efforts, external university efforts) and Slate communication plan for recruitment.
• Represent the School of Social Work at University recruiting events
• Create marketing material for recruitment
• Assist in maintaining databases and other tools for meeting recruitment goals
BSW and iBSW Admissions
• Responsible for review of all BSW and iBSW applications.
• Administers and revises policies regarding undergraduate admissions in consultation with the program directors and faculty via the Recruitment and Admissions Committee
• Assist Director of Student Affairs with awards, scholarship, and fellowship related responsibilities
Student Mentoring and Support
• Provide support and mentorship to BSW and iBSW students of concern (e.g. students on probation, students identified by Student Concern Form)
• Develop and implement BSW and iBSW Student Programming (e.g. Admitted Student Days, New Student Orientation, New Student Welcome Event, Professional Development Certificate Workshops)
• Serve as a social work career-based resource for undergraduate students
• Oversee the work of the Bachelor of Social Work Association
• Serve as secondary point of contact and academic advisor for undergraduate BSW majors and BSW minors
• Other duties assigned as they relate to student support and/or advising
Required Qualifications:
A degree in social work (Bachelor of Social Work and/or Master of Social Work) or a related social sciences field. A minimum of two years of experience at a university campus in student or academic affairs or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the School of Social Work, University of Illinois procedures, and experience working with student populations preferred. Licensed Social Worker (LSW) preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Excellent knowledge of academic advising, academic recruitment, and the ability to provide academic guidance to students in a social work discipline. Must demonstrate initiative, exercise keen independent judgment, and have the ability to stay organized while working on competing demands

Salary and Appointment Information:
This is a full-time (100%), twelve-month non-tenure track academic professional position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The proposed start date is as soon as possible after the closing date.
