Equality, Diversity and Inclusion matters to us. Every student and staff member deserves to be treated fairly and with respect. We have made significant progress as a Faculty, for example, three of our four schools hold a Silver Athena Swan award for gender equality and our Medical School holds a Gold Athena Swan award. We have School and Faculty level EDI committees and initiatives for staff and students.
We know that students can often struggle to speak out about bullying, harassment racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or other unacceptable behaviour. The Faculty of Medicine & Health seeks to appoint up to two Freedom to Speak Up Guardians to job share with our our current Freedom to Speak Up Guardian. This is key to supporting our goal of providing a safe equitable learning environment for every student and building trust in our reporting processes.
