As we embark on an ambitious Digital Transformation, we are investing in our IT infrastructure which is key to developing our learning and research capability as we strive to collaborate across the globe, tackling global issues.
The storage team is focussed on delivering storage space from on-premise and public cloud systems, making it easy and safe for our customers to archive, vault, protect and share data, as well as backing up servers, databases and applications. We currently look after over 10 petabytes of data and forecast this to grow significantly as University Research accelerates.
You will play a proactive part in developing and implementing policy and process standards, service offerings and strategic projects with impacts across the University. You will play a key role in developing and standardising the delivery model and ways of working as we modernise our storage estate using your substantial expertise in this field. You will take a leading role in the development of solutions for complex issues and problems, bringing your inspirational approach to raise the quality of services delivered by the team, and deliver a service that is focussed on continual service improvement throughout its provision.
You will utilise skills gained from substantial experience in Server or storage roles to develop a service that aligns to industry best practice, IT standards and regulatory compliance. As the senior technical expert in the team you will be responsible for supporting, training, coaching and mentoring colleagues. You’ll need to get up to speed quickly and have excellent relationship building skills to work with world-leading academics and professional colleagues.
