The Department of Anesthesiology is offering a highly motivated and competent professional the opportunity to serve as a Senior Coordinator, Business Operations in the department Business Office with primary responsibilities for supporting department-level clinical operations, to include data analytics and reporting. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the development and maintenance of marketing and communications materials (including the web site) for the department.

The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, be regarded as a team player, have strong and proven organizational skills, experience in data analytics and reporting, and have a personal drive to be their best. Experience working with Epic EHR strongly preferred; exceptional writing and visualization skills, plus experience working in an academic medicine environment is an added bonus.

This position is located at the Neurosensory Center in the Texas Medical Center.

Job Purpose

Provide support to the department by coordinating financial and business processes, processing personnel related transactions, and liaising with central departments.

Job Duties

75% - Clinical Operations Analytics and Reporting

  • Develops and produces dashboards and reports of productivity and utilization views using existing data sources; coordinate efforts with Business Intelligence.
  • Provides data sets and analytics related to the clinical mission.
  • Facilitates internal BCM reporting of quality data (e.g. for Chair goals).
  • Reviews, researches and resolves issues from daily Baylor Medicine Epic reports, liaising with the BCM Professional Billing Services (PBS) to resolve billing and provider issues.
  • Monitors and sources requests for information (e.g. audit requests, compliance).
  • Documents departmental processes and their intersection with central campus processes.
  • Serves as administrative liaison for the clinical scheduling software of choice (QGenda).
  • Supports timekeeping functions in the clinical scheduling software (QGenda).
  • Monitors accuracy of data between SuccessFactors and the clinical scheduling software (QGenda).
  • Collaborates with lead faculty schedulers for implementing best practice in the scheduling software, to enable timely and useful reporting from the application.
  • Documents definitions and coordinates the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for service roles (e.g. administrative days).


15% - Communications and Marketing

  • Collaborates with faculty and staff of the department to update and maintain the department’s web presence.
  • Ensures web content follows Baylor College of Medicine standards and policies.
  • Manages updates to the department web site using Baylor College of Medicine web resources.
  • First point-of-contact for the department’s social media strategies and engagement.
  • Coordinates the development of marketing materials for department.
  • Maintains department email lists / list-serves.


10% - Business Office and Credentialing Support

  • Supports the credentialing of new faculty providers and locum tenens / temporary providers.
  • Performs other support tasks for credentialing, as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a health-related field.
  • Epic EHR experience.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Working in an academic medicine environment.
