Support faculty and subject matter experts in the development of credit and non-credit online offerings, including micro-credentials, badges, workshops, bootcamps, and other short-term learning modules. 

Job Function:

Support faculty and subject matter experts in the development of credit and non-credit online offerings, including micro-credentials, badges, workshops, bootcamps, and other short-term learning modules. 

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in instructional design/technology, educational technology or relevant field.

Preferred Education:

Masters degree in instructional design/technology or educational technology or relevant field.

Minimum Experience:

Three to five years of relevant experience working with instructional design and technology including familiarity with learning management systems and content development applications in higher education.

Preferred Experience:

Experience designing online courses; experience conducting or producing research in the area of instructional design, course support, teaching and learning, or teaching with technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop educational content in collaboration with faculty and subject matter experts in the BrightSpace learning management platform.
  • Contribute to the community of inquiry and good practice in the areas of instructional support, pedagogy, faculty development and learner experience. Encourage use of innovative solutions, including the use of technologies and best pedagogical strategies and practices.
  • Work and collaborate within a team environment to provide educational services and good practice related to teaching and learning with faculty and subject matter experts, inter- and intra-departmentally.  

  • Create new templates for instructional modules and interactive exercises in the BrightSpace. Communicate with BrightSpace consultants on development of new content templates as needed.
  • Maintain contemporary knowledge bases on instruction, teaching and learning, and faculty development.

  • Consult on new program development for the Lifetime Learning Initiative.
  • Engage in annual program evaluation.  Collaborate with Lifetime Learning Initiative team to maintain and regularly assess and enhance non-credit course offerings. Engage in regular meetings related to new program identification and planning.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
