Overview
Develop and oversee strategic programs and initiatives for the Feinstein Institute in collaboration with other College departments, including recruiting and training of students involved in the program, managing annual budgets, and advertising and outreach to be sure students and partners are aware of the programs offered.
Essential Duties:
1. Manage the Community Work Study Program. Develop new, and maintain current, community partnerships and contacts to support the placement of 45-55 students each year. Train, advise, and support community partners in the recruitment of Community Work-Study (CWS) students. Support students throughout their commitment to the program. Help students make transportation arrangements to community partner sites and problem-solve and resolve issues as they arise. Conduct three rpofessional development trainings and three community service reflections per semester for CWS employees as part of the deducation and student development component of the program. Collect site supervisor-approved timesheets for all students. Approve bi-weekly timesheets for students through the CyberFriar system, and manage and archive paperwork reporting for auditing purposes. Conduct one-on-one check ins with CWS students and regular check ins with site supervisors. Monitor student hours worked in relation to their awards and the program budget. Assess the effectiveness of the program, pre- and post-surveys, and other data collections, as well as its impact on community partners and workers. Outreach to offices on campus (e.g., Career Education, Dean of Multicultural Student Success), as well as academic programs (e.g., Social Work, Biology, Political Science, Global Studies, Health, Policy Management, Psychology), to make the program more visible and accessible as a professional development experience.
2. Coordinate and further develop the Feinstein Institute’s intercultural immersion course-imbedded Global Service-Learning (GSL) program. In collaboration with the Global Studies department, identify which service and cultural immersion experiences courses Feinstein will support each year (averaging between 3-5 courses per year). Consult with GSL faculty to identify and support student trip leaders, specifically in the areas of recruitment, fundraising, and reflections. Maintain or establish partnership with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) — host country community partners — with whom the GSL courses will be working. Work with faculty to develop GSL courses to guarantee best practices, and to encourage student leadership development incorporation into the Feinstein GSL budgeting and fundraising processes. Assist faculty in identifying community partners in host countries. Support community partner relationships, act as a liaison between the faculty, the Center for Global Education, and prepare grant proposals for the Santander Universities GSL grant, as well as coordinate end-of-year grant reporting. Oversee the advertisement, recruitment, and application processes for all GSL courses. Conduct regular meeteing with student leaders. Support student fundraising efforts. Work with Institutional Advancement to assess current and future funding sources, organize travel arrangements for GSL courses, coordinate and communicate with Emergency Management, The Center for Global Education, and the General Counsel as necessary. Co-teach and lead one GSL course in the spring semester.
3. Supervisor student workers in the department. Conduct weekly one-on-one metings with each student and guide both professional and personal development. Oversee position descriptions, job postings, orientation, team building, timesheet approvals, and all other tasks.
4. Work with Institute staff and other campus units and departments on the development of new programs to fulfill the goals of the Institute’s and College’s Strategic Plan, specifically around promoting diversity and student leadership development. Including, but not limited to, MLK Committee, Post-Graduate Service Committee, Common Reading Committee, Internship Advisory Council, and Washington Semester Program Committee.

Education and Experience Required
· Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of student from an accredited institution required
· Minimum of two years’ experience in service learning or experiential education
· Knowledge and or experience in Programming, grant writing, and higher education
community engagement
· Ability to work with, train, and develop student leadership capacities
· Ability to build relationships on campus as well as out in the community
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Experience in mediation or conflict resolution
