The Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance is an integral part of our Athletics management structure and is responsible for sports performance program management including; 1. Responsibility for designing, developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all student-athletes.
2. Working collaboratively with coaches, sports medicine staff, kinesiology faculty, and other campus entities to ensure the use of the latest technologies and testing methodologies, providing our student athletes with the best strength and conditioning resources possible.
3. Working collaboratively with coaches and sports medicine staff to effectively communicate injury prevention and rehabilitation.

4. Working collaboratively with Graduate Kinesiology to continue the development and implementation of an internship program, by recruiting potential graduate student interns, developing curriculum to ensure that they meet their academic requirements, and mentor them in all areas of Sports Performance. 5. Overseeing the management and supervision of the Athletic Weight Room serving approximately 300 varsity athletes, including equipment maintenance, inventory control, facility supervisors, and risk management. 6. Knowing, recognizing, and complying with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the College and its employees, and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (including, but not limited to, NCAA Bylaw, Article 11 and its requirement to report all athletically-related income and benefits from sources outside the College to the President) and the West Coast Conference as now constituted or as may be amended in the future. Immediately advise the Director of Athletics and Recreational Sports if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred or will occur.

Experience and Qualifications


Required: Bachelor's degree

Preferred: Master's Degree

  • Three to five years of relevant experience as a head or assistant strength and conditioning, coach at the College level.
  • Current certifications for strength and conditioning, and CPR
  • Proficiency with word-processing software and database management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate with a diverse community of students, faculty, coaches, administrators, and staff.
  • Ability to represent the Department and the College to off-campus constituencies, including alumni, friends, corporate partners, and donors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple, competing tasks, and priorities.
  • Team-oriented individual with ability to take initiative.
  • Understanding and supportive of the values and ideals of the Lasallian, Catholic, and liberal arts tradition.
