Job DescriptionThe Social Science Department at Chatham University has an opening for a Capstone-track Assistant Professor of Psychology in the undergraduate psychology program starting in the 2022-2023 academic year. The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for teaching six courses each academic year. Courses will primarily include General Psychology, courses in the research methods sequence (e.g., Statistics and Research Design, Critical Thinking in Psychology, Foundations of Behavioral Research, Integrative Capstone), and additional upper-level courses in the candidate's subfield specialization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching 3 courses in Fall and Spring semesters (6 courses per academic year) in General Psychology, research methods sequence, and other areas as identified by the program.
Developing and implementing a research agenda that results in scholarly publications and presentations.
Actively engaging in the campus community and efforts to promote and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Actively engaging in program/department service
Actively engaging in university service
Earned Ph.D. in psychology (or specific subfield) or Psy.D required. Applicants who have not earned Ph.D. but will defend before the position start date may be considered with a letter of support from the dissertation chair specifying the date of scheduled defense.
Experience teaching at the university/collegiate level is required. Experience teaching General Psychology, Statistics and Research Design, Critical Thinking in Psychology, and/or Foundations of Behavioral Research preferred. Experience teaching and using SPSS is preferred. Experience as an independent course instructor preferrred.
