Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
For this position, candidates must have at least one of the following: 
1. Master’s degree or higher in mathematics or applied mathematics from an accredited college or university; OR 
2. Bachelor’s degree in either of the above AND a Master’s degree or higher in statistics, physics, or mathematics education from an accredited college or university; OR 
3. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR 
4. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above.

Experience Required:
• Minimum of one (1) year (full-or part-time) of successful experience teaching Mathematics at the college level.
• Experience in alternate instructional styles such as computer-aided and individualized instruction. 

Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given those candidates who demonstrate a high level of professional expertise on the basis of: 

• College teaching experience in both developmental and transfer-level Mathematics.
• A minimum of 24 semester units in Mathematics; 12 must be graduate, 12 may be upper division, verifiable by both undergraduate and graduate transcripts (official and/or unofficial) at time of application.
• Experience in teaching students with different learning styles including the possible use of computer technology as a teaching tool.

 Work Schedule: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, District employees are currently working a hybrid schedule of remote work and in-person each week through December 2021.  The number of in-person days may vary by position/department with work potentially transitioning to fully in-person in January 2022. Further clarification of work schedule can be discussed with the Hiring Manager if selected as an interview candidate.
