About the role:
We are currently seeking a Research Assistant with experience in Bioinformatics to join our Predictive Bioanalytics team. Reporting to the Lead Staff Scientist, you will support the creation of end-to-end analytics for grants (e.g. with NIH and DARPA) and contribute to the translation of project-specific deliverables into generalized solutions that will be integrated with our new bioinformatic cloud ecosystem.

What you’ll do:
Contribute to a high-performance team culture that is mission-focused, ultra-collaborative, and intellectually engaging in a psychologically safe environment for new ideas and disruptive innovation.
Collaborate with other technicians, scientists and engineers to translate scientific problems into computational solutions and provide analytical support through the research process.
Contribute to the design and documentation of high-quality code in multiple languages (R, Python) to drive grant objectives and/or help to de-risk projects that may spin out of the Institute as start-up companies.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.

What you'll need:
A minimum of one year post-secondary education and/or work experience in bioinformatics, software engineering, or data science using Python/R.
Some familiarity and basic skills in industry-grade tools including Git, Docker, cloud computing, Tableau/Looker/Preset, RStudio Desktop/Connect and/or Python IDEs, etc.

Desirable Skills:
College Background in biological sciences (major or minor) or demonstrable informal education in biological sciences preferred.
Additional courses or certifications in data science, engineering, cloud, and/or machine learning.

This is a one year term position with the possibility of renewal.
