Are you looking for a career in research instrument calibration? Would you like to work in a team based at the farm facilities of one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
The Faculty of Biological Sciences requires an instrument calibration technician, to provide quality assurance on the research instruments used at the highly instrumented, flagship National Pig Centre, based at University of Leeds farms. You will work as part of a research team and will be involved in instrument testing, monitoring and reporting on a range of research equipment. This includes the air-based feed system, weigh scales, ear tag readers, environmental monitors, and cameras. Previous experience of working with these systems is not essential as training will be provided.
To apply for this role you must be educated to GCSE level or have equivalent qualifications. You should also be experienced in the precision calibration of instruments or other machinery, and in working to complete technically challenging tasks with care and precision.
The University of Leeds and the Faculty of Biological Sciences are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offer a range of family friendly policies. The University is a charter member of Athena SWAN (the national body that promotes gender equality in higher education), and the Faculty of Biological Sciences was awarded a Silver award in 2020. We are proud to be an inclusive Faculty that values all staff, and are happy to consider job share applications and requests for flexible working arrangements from our employees.
