Job Description

Are you an experienced Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) Needs Assessor, or Disability professional? Do you have a broad range of experience in making recommendations and knowledge of assistive technology? Do you want to play an important role within the Leeds Assessment Centre, assessing the academic support needs of disabled students?

You will be responsible for providing formal Needs Assessments to disabled students who have applied for disability support funding. As a part of this you will be expected to work within strict quality standards that are determined by the Assessment Centre. You will be based within the Leeds Assessment Centre but will work as part of the Disability Services team and Student Education Service.  

You will need experience of working with disabled adults, knowledge of specific disabilities and of teaching, learning and assessment in Higher and/or Further Education including the use of assistive equipment and other support for disabled people in this context. 

A minimum of 0.2 FTE hours (approximately 40 assessments per year) will be guaranteed, with this being worked flexibly over the year according to need. Any agreed additional hours worked above this minimum will be paid on a time sheeted basis.
