Description:Position Description

The Pesavento Lab invites applications for a one-year teaching-intensive Postdoctoral Fellow position starting in July 2022.

Postdoctoral Responsibilities:

The postdoctoral position will comprise of mentored research (65%) and teaching (35%) for the 2022 - 2023 academic year at Saint Mary's College (SMC) under the supervision of Prof. Jim Pesavento. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute research on projects undertaken in Prof Pesavento's lab, specifically investigating the role of histone-modifying enzymes in the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in co-instructing and developing a new, graduate-level course focused on advanced molecular biology lecture and laboratory, refinement of an existing introductory cell and molecular biology course, and refinement of an existing upper division molecular biology lecture and laboratory.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in biochemistry or related field by July 1, 2022 and a strong record or potential in both teaching and research. A demonstrated ability in the field of proteomics will be considered a plus.
