Job Summary
The Assistant Systems Engineer will assist with maintaining an enterprise level Windows and MacOS environment as part of an integrated ECN team effort in support of research and instructional goals of the College of Engineering, the Purdue Polytechnic, and the Office of the Executive Vice-President for Research and Partnerships (EVPRP), which includes Discovery Park.


Required:

Associate's degree
Six (6) months of experience with one or more of the following: Windows, MacOS, or Linux environment
Creditable experience includes but is not limited to capstone coursework, internships, co-op experiences, course project work, or portfolio work
Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and work experience (e.g. a high school diploma / GED and two and a half (2.5) years of relevant experience)
Ability to work with a wide variety of computer hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, etc.
Ability to work with a wide variety of faculty, staff and students in a multitude of environments like instruction, administration and research
Ability to troubleshoot a variety of environments


Preferred:

Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: Windows, MacOS, or Linux environment
Hardware maintenance of advanced computer, peripherals and networking systems
Purdue Engineering experience
Familiarity with software redistribution techniques (i.e. SCCM/CM, Puppet, etc.)

This position represents two (2) vacancies
This was formerly classified as an operational/technical position; an internal lateral transfer will retain same benefit standing
