Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a Physician Billing Specialist II who is detail oriented, enjoys working as a team and independently in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Physician Billing, which includes patients registration, must be able to maintain the security of patients information such as HIPAA regulations, data entry, maintaining Pre-A/R workqueues, and other duties as assigned. Effective computer skills are important for the use of varies hospital portals.

Job Duties

  • Monitors and maintains work queues, missing surgery reports and data entry.
  • Enters patient registrations and assists with charge corrections.
  • Handles special projects and assists co-workers when needed. 
  • Must be able to learn new procedures and solve problems.
  • Reviews operative notes to determined if ready for processing.
  • Assists with data entries.
  • Resolves patient billing issues and patient reconciliations reports.
  • Assists with helping departments meet monthly goals and deadlines. 
  • Ability to work overtime during month end.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic experience. 
  • Medical terminology a plus.
