Job Description


This role performs Compliance activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of Baylor College of Medicine’s Compliance and Privacy program in accordance with Federal and Texas law.

Job Duties

  • Conducts routine privacy monitoring of access to ePHI through use of various tools. Runs reports based on pre-determined criteria and escalate suspected privacy incidents for investigation. Conducts and reports on routine privacy monitoring of access to ePHI through use of various tools, including, but not limited to Intruno, EPIC, SAP SuccessFactors, and IDM.
  • Triages and routes all BCM Integrity Hotline incidents to proper Department Liaisons including updating department liaison contact list. Trains and directs all BCM Integrity Hotline department liaisons on policies, practices and procedures related to Integrity Hotline incidents. Develops reporting metrics and creates reporting metrics for Executive Compliance Director and BCM Compliance Committees based on data received from various business units from incidents reported to the Integrity Hotline and Outside the Hotline.
  • Assists in timely tracking Business Associate Agreements, effectively communicating HIPAA standards and requirements for a Business Associate Agreement.
  • Cross-trains to serve as a back-up to Compliance Specialist to triage Disclosure of Outside Interest (DOI) Interest submissions, approvals and communications.
  • Manages monthly Sanction Check tasks, including reviewing sanction check reports from vendor and escalates issues as necessary.
  • Assists in the development, monitoring and reporting of departmental Key Performance Indicators of the BCM Compliance program, including Integrity Hotline, Sanction Reports, Privacy, Education and other areas, utilizing prior experience and knowledge. Prepares reports for Compliance Executive Director and Baylor College of Medicine Compliance Committees.
  • Assists and participates in Compliance Week activities with the Senior Manager of Training.
  • Supports MDAudit processes when necessary.
  • Prepares monthly department budget exception reports for Executive Director of Compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and no experience may also be considered.
  • Master’s Degree a plus.
