Responsibilities

Telecommute option is available. Must work within California.

Immediate temporary Compensation Analyst needed to assist with compensation projects and tactical, daily compensation requests.

  • Conduct job analysis to determine appropriate job classifications and corresponding salary levels.
  • Process compensation actions; salary increases, stipend requests, FLSA adjustments.
  • Evaluate position and individual placements across the College.
  • Make recommendations to salary adjustments/increases within budget limitations in consultation with team members.
  • Utilize thorough knowledge of State and Federal wage & hours laws, FLSA, Senate and Assembly bills, etc. Applying regulations where needed.
  • Provide administrative and operational support of the compensation services within the human resources department.
  • Analyze position source documents ensuring that they accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents and provide salary or grade recommendations
  • Assist in completion and submission of salary surveys including AICCU, Lasallian Survey, CUPA-HR, IPEDS, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and others as needed.
  • Prepare reports and conduct internal/external benchmarking analysis for various positions as requested.


Experience and Qualifications

Education:

REQUIRED: AA / AS

PREFERRED: BA / BS

Experience:

Experience in Higher Education is strongly preferred, coupled with a strong knowledge of compensation and classification practices.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Ability to liaise / consult / collaborate with multiple departments and various types of employees.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize multiple time sensitive tasks.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of human resource administration and a detailed knowledge in California compensation practices.
  • Skill in performing accurate data entry.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in problem solving and decision making. Ability to demonstrate close attention to detail.
  • Experience with Neoed and Colleague products is highly desired.
