Job Summary:
Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate courses in music education, including foundation courses in the discipline; woodwind methods or brass methods; supervise student teachers and coordinate clinical experiences in public schools; advise students; maintain an active agenda of scholarly and creative achievement; provide service to the institution and to the profession. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

The Department of Music at Miami University is housed within the College of Creative Arts, a division that also comprises the departments of Architecture + Interior Design, Art, Emerging Technology in Business and Design (ETBD), and Theatre. The department has a long history of preparing professional music educators, scholars, composers, and performers. We foster a comprehensive music curriculum served by a group of dedicated and passionate artist-teachers. Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Music Education by time of appointment. A minimum of three years teaching band in public schools (K-12).

Desired Qualifications:
Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated success teaching at the college level.
