Job Description


Directs clinical research activities for the RRO and its supported divisions within the Department of Pediatrics. Provides direction and oversight to multiple clinical research coordination and support team members including but not limited to research managers, research coordinators, data managers and regulatory staff. Collaborates with the RRO's Quality Assurance and Quality Control team to improve operations and research effectiveness.

  • Include specific measurable and attainable performance goals for the position.


  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to effectively communicate and develop effective organizational teams.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple teams, complex functions, and multiple managers.
  • In-depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, federal and international regulations, ICH and other applicable regulations governing the conduct of clinical trials.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drug development process including monitoring, regulatory requirements, drug safety requirements, and data management processes.
  • Proficient at reviewing medical protocols, knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Effective organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow through.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience developing, monitoring and submitting budget reports.
  • Effective negotiation and people management skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care related field. Master's degree in nursing, health care or management related field.
  • 11 years of directly related experience with 4 years of management experience. 7 years of experience whit Master degree.
  • Certification as either a Clinical Research Professional (CRP), or Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) from The Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP)
