Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach PERFA 19-13, Glee Club, in January Term 2022.
Jan Term 2022 (January 3 - January 28, 2022)
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 - 7:00pm
.25 credit course (.33 faculty workload)
This course will be taught in person, on campus.
This auditioned ensemble focuses on developing intermediate-advanced ensemble musicianship and artistry in performance of mostly a cappella choral arrangements in contemporary music styles (pop, jazz, funk, rock, etc.). Study includes vocal technique, diction, movement, rhythmic development, and the discernment of intervals, complex harmonies, and modes.
We seek an instructor of music whose primary experience and training lies in choral accompaniment, in all styles and genres. Equally important is a background in Estill Voice Training (EVT), including instruction of EVT concepts at the college level and in the context of both choral and soloist coaching. Applicants should also have mastery of IPA. Masters degree in the area of keyboard studies is required.
