Job Description

Summary

The Patient Accounts Representative I conducts AR follow-up and will contact the payer or patient for status of unpaid claims.

Job Duties

  • Assists the AR follow up team with payment reimbursement.
  • Calls insurance companies or access payer website for claim status, as well as the appeal status on denied claims and payment reimbursement.
  • Expedites and maximizes payment of insurance medical claims by contacting insurance payers and patients by telephone or website 
  • Assists with inquiries from outside parties regarding account status.
  • Reviews invoices to verify payments and contractual adjustments.
  • Resolves all denials, and requests for information, including appeals.
  • Follows up on outstanding accounts and makes proper notations in EPIC system.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AR follow up.
