The Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions works to identify, recruit, enroll, and onboard transfer students in accordance with the college's enrollment goals.
The primary purposes of the position are to:
Manage a Recruiting Area
Represent the college to prospective transfer students, family members, college transfer coordinators and other individuals or organizations involved in the college search process. Plan and implement recruitment activities for community colleges and community-based organizations in the form of community college visits and speaking engagements.
Counsel Prospective Students
Provide counseling opportunities individually or in groups in-person or by phone, email, text or other forms of social media.
Evaluate and Select Applicants
Read, interpret, and evaluate students' academic credentials. Recommend or make admissions decisions.
Required: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: Master's Degree
Required: Progressive professional experience in a college admissions office working on transfer student recruitment.
Preferred: Experience coordinating articulation agreements and advising new students.
Computer Skills: Experience with a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system (Slate preferred), Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new programs. Previous experience with ARTSYS, DegreeWorks, and Navigate preferred.
Essential Job Functions
Manage a recruitment territory by representing the college to prospective transfer students, family members, community college transfer coordinators, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college search process. Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned community colleges and community-based organizations in the form of community college visits, college fairs and speaking engagements.
Evaluate admissions applications - read, interpret, and evaluate students' academic credentials. Recommend or make admissions decisions.
Counsel prospective students through in-person interviews, conversations and information sessions and through phone, email, text and various forms of social media.
Develop partnerships and articulation agreements with Maryland community colleges.
Facilitate the successful onboarding of transfer students post the receipt of the enrollment deposit by coordinating a communication strategy, assisting with course selection, and ensuring transfer students are completing New Student Portal Activity.
Maintain Goucher's data in ARTSYS in conjunction with the Registrar.
