Summary

The Office of Communications and Community Outreach is offering a highly motivated and organized professional the opportunity to advance the mission, vision and values of Baylor College of Medicine by developing and promoting community outreach opportunities within and outside Baylor College of Medicine. This position will employ communications and other strategies, including external and internal communications, event planning, web-based and social media strategies, and public relations.

Job Duties

  • Creates and implements community outreach strategies to align with College-wide goals.
  • Manages and tracks institutional volunteering program (Volunteer Time Off). 
  • Creates College-wide internal and external community service opportunities for faculty, staff and students.
  • Collaborates with diverse departments including Office of Institutional Diversity, Office of the President, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, and others to amplify internal and external community awareness of services and resources.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with community groups and stakeholders to encourage partnership and communication.
  • Helps with content and communications plans as they pertain to internal and external community-focused activities, including writing for Baylor College of Medicine blog and internal newsletters.
  • Expands the community-focused messaging across media platforms, internal and external communications and print marketing materials. 
  • Develops and deploys a speaker series for Baylor specialists to educate the Houston community on pertinent health topics.
  • Tracks, analyzes and reports on data pertaining to community initiatives and involvement.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
