Serve as a coach and guide for student participants in the [email protected] program, supporting them in their transition to college and on their pathway to positive post-graduation outcomes and assessing their progress toward academic and personal goals and connecting them with high-impact curricular and co-curricular activities that promote success in and out of the classroom.  
 
 


With the opening of a new Multicultural Center, Ball State University is looking for an Assistant Director for the TeenWorks program. This full-time contract position also includes an excellent benefits package.

Job Function:

Serve as a coach and guide for student participants in the [email protected] program, supporting them in their transition to college and on their pathway to positive post-graduation outcomes and assessing their progress toward academic and personal goals and connecting them with high-impact curricular and co-curricular activities that promote success in and out of the classroom.  
 
 

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree.

Minimum Experience:

Experience working in higher education in the areas of advising, diversity, inclusion and/or multicultural issues.

Preferred Experience:

At least one year of a graduate assistantship or professional experience in higher education in student affairs administration; experience working with students of color; experience working with student organizations; experience with intervention strategies for student success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with [email protected] participants on a regular basis to assess academic and personal progress towards the students personal 4-year success plan and goals.


  • Serve as a coach, guide, and resource to [email protected] participants.
  • Support [email protected] participants in their transition, retention and persistence at Ball State.

  • Connect [email protected] participants to high impact curricular and co-curricular activities to promote student success including but not limited to leadership development, on-campus student employment, undergraduate research, service and philanthropy. 

  • Monitor the academic progress of [email protected] participants and engage in appropriate interventions s needed.

  • Provide oversight and management of a mentoring program that connects [email protected] participants with peer mentors, alumni, faculty or staff.

  • Supervise graduate intern and students.
  • Serve as a liaison and resource to the TeenWorks summer programs.
  • Support the career exploration and development  of [email protected] participants to prepare them for post graduation success.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
