Job Function:

Provide administrative support for the School of Kinesiology and Director of the Fisher Institute of Health and Well-Being and Healthy Lifestyle Center; includes all budget-related activities; coordinate communications; maintain databases; schedule events; maintain calendars; track student competency records; coordinate graduate student applications; support marketing and communications efforts.

Minimum Education:

Associate’s degree or equivalent in business, office administration or related area.

Minimum Experience:

At least one year of office administrative, secretarial or related experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide secretarial and analytical support for Directors, Associate Director, assigned faculty, other staff members, and graduate assistants in the School of Kinesiology and the Fisher Institute of Health and Well-being; includes schedule meetings; technology support; obtain student information/schedules for advising purposes; provide teaching, research, and service support; enter course registration permission; process change of grade forms, withdrawal forms; gather data for program accreditation.

  • Monitor and track budget expenditures for general fund, foundation accounts, and active grants; make all deposits; maintain confidential records; process transactions and purchases; coordinate receiving; renew licenses. 
  • Provide support for monitoring student completion of requirements in the graduate Athletic Training Program; includes utilizing the Typhon tracking system; compiling, downloading and distributing student progress and evaluation reports, e.g., CPR, First Aid, TB test results, physicals, Emergency Action Plans; communicate requirements with students; follow-up with students whose materials have not been received; review student schedules and progress with the Athletic Training Director/Program Coordinator; assist with organization of clinical placements. 
  • Process Athletic Training graduate applications through Slate; maintain application files; correspond with admitted and prospective students; organize and coordinate applicant interviews and orientations.
  • Support marketing and communications efforts to internal and external constituents; includes gather, prepare, post, review, update, and distribute promotional materials via various outlets, e.g., website, flat screen monitor, kudos, info sheets, posters, digital media; respond and direct inquiries from faculty, staff, students, and external constituents.
  • Coordinate overall office and laboratory functions; maintain policies and procedures, confidentiality agreements; inventory of all equipment and supplies; process work requests.
  • Coordinate arrangements for luncheons, invited speaker presentations, scholarly meetings; organize planning details; communicate and initiate travel arrangements for guests.
  • Prepare and process all EPAFs for faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and student employees; and process Kronos records.
  • Direct and supervise all student employees; includes prepare job descriptions, recommend for hire, set schedules and assignments, conduct student employee performance appraisals.
  • Work with Foundation officers related to fundraising options and provide recommendations to the Directors; process all communications with donors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
