Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
For this position, employees must have at least one of the following: 

1. Master’s in nursing from an accredited college or university; OR 
2. Bachelor’s in nursing AND Master’s in health education or health science from an accredited college or university; OR 
3. The minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing, whichever is higher; OR 4. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR 
5. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above.

Applicants must also have: 

Current and unencumbered California RN license.  

Clinical affiliate requirements, such as backgrounds, immunizations, and drug testing.  

Master’s degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university must include course work in nursing, education or administration.

Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those candidates demonstrating a high level of expertise on the basis of: 

· Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in nursing, particularly as it relates to the relevance of being appropriately responsive to the attitudes, feelings, or circumstances of people who share a common and distinctive racial, national, religious, linguistic or cultural heritage to student’s lives, interest, and communities; demonstrated ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized groups within nursing and healthcare delivery. 

· Recent experience working with diverse student populations such as African Americans, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders and other marginalized groups. 

· Theory and clinical-based experience in Women’s Health Nursing and Obstetrics and Pediatrics and willingness to remediate in Women’s Health and Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Psychiatric Mental Health, or Gerontology within six months of hire. 

· Within the last five years, classroom and clinical teaching experiences in a collegiate environment. 

 · Knowledge of curriculum design and development and the recent developments with National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) Next Gen 2023. 

· Knowledge of active pedagogical strategies including flipped classroom and revolving case studies. 

· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with peers, staff and students, and work within a team.
