Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
For this position, candidates must have at least one of the following: 
1. Master’s in fine arts, art, or art history from an accredited college or university; OR 
2. Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in humanities from an accredited college or university; OR 
3. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR 
 4. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above.

Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those candidates demonstrating a high level of expertise on the basis of: 

Minimum of two (2) years full-time (or part-time equivalent) teaching experience in Graphic Design/Communication Design at the college level.

Established record of professional work experience, exhibitions, and/or published work.

Effective writing, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty in related fields.

Experience initiating and creating curriculum and program development at the college level to keep pace with the changes in the industry. 

Master’s of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Design and Visual Communication from an accredited college or university.

Professional work experience in User Experience (UX) Design, Environmental Graphic Design, and/or Information Design.

Experience working with industry professionals and advisory committees to assist in program development.

Extensive knowledge of changing trends in the Graphic Design/Communication Design industry.
