Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:
For this position, employees must have at least one of the following:聽

1. Master鈥檚 degree or higher in chemistry from an accredited college or university; OR聽
2. Bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemistry or biochemistry AND a Master鈥檚 degree or higher in聽
聽biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or聽
聽geochemistry from an accredited college or university; OR聽
3. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR聽
4. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1 or 2 above.

Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those candidates demonstrating a high level of expertise on the basis of:聽
路 An earned PhD from a US accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent聽
PhD certified by the US Department of Education.聽
路 A minimum of four semesters of in-person teaching as the lead instructor for General聽
Chemistry lecture and laboratory.聽
路 Experience in the use of computers and instrumentation in Chemistry laboratory聽
路 Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of the socioeconomic, cultural, disability,聽
political, and ethnic backgrounds of diverse student populations.聽
路 Experience of the ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized and other聽
marginalized groups within Chemistry.
