Please note this role is only open to current employees within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures.

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures is looking to appoint a new Chair of the Faculty Research Ethics Committee from 1 August 2022. The successful candidate will be a member of academic staff based in the Faculty.

The Committee remit includes: considering applications for ethical review from staff and students; working with applicants to ensure that research is conducted ethically; auditing completed research which received ethical approval to ensure compliance with ethical practices; and promoting awareness and understanding of ethical issues in research more broadly.  

The role of the Chair is open to academic members of staff with appropriate levels of expertise across all the Faculty’s Schools. 

The appointment is on a 0.3 fte basis, normally for a period of three years, and requires the agreement of the Executive Dean and relevant Head of School.
