Responsibilities
Performs routine laboratory procedures according to protocol may include but not limited to DNA extraction, processing blood samples, maintaining cell cultures, isolating RNA, making solutions, buffers, reagents, handling research animals, etc. using standard techniques and/or complex lab equipment. Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments. Receives regular supervision for most assignments. Supports team to achieve goals. Expected to perform the following duties after appropriate training and time in the position.


Qualifications
Completion of a high school biological science course. Basic knowledge of routine technical/functional procedures. Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Internet software, order processing system, and Microsoft Office software. Must be detail oriented and work as a team player. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compute simple mathematical computations. Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to organize and perform precise and accurate work when dealing with samples and chemicals.  OMRF has mandated the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, excluding those with an approved medical or religious accommodation, as a condition of employment.
