Responsibilities
The Srinivasan Lab is looking for a Research Technician with experience in mouse handling, tissue harvesting and analysis. Responsibilities include experiments such as tissue harvesting, processing, sectioning, taking pictures with microscope, and maintain lab records. The technician should be detail oriented, interested in learning challenging new skills, perform experiments according to protocol, work independently and in a team.


Qualifications
BA/BS degree typically in one of the biological sciences, physics, or chemistry or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience. Apply developing knowledge to coordinate day-to-day work, complete a variety of detailed tasks and assignments.   Basic knowledge of Internet software, order processing system, data base and Microsoft Office software. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and protocols/procedures.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to compute basic mathematical operations, i.e., rate, ratio, percent, molarity, and unit conversion.  Ability to organize and perform precise and accurate work when dealing with samples and chemicals.   Ability to speak effectively to present ideas and data analysis to supervisor, who will decide how to proceed.  Suggest changes to experiments and procedures.  Ability to exchange ideas and procedures with co-workers and other labs. OMRF has mandated the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, excluding those with an approved medical or religious accommodation, as a condition of employment.
