Responsibilities
The Zhao lab is looking for a summer laborotory technician or research technician. This person is expected to perform routine laboratory procedures according to standardized protocols and report results. She/He receives detailed instructions on assignments and regular supervision. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn mouse genetics and immunology. It also allows the individual to gain experience in general lab management.

Responsibilities will include:
- Managing mouse colonies: updating strain database, setting up breeders and genotyping by PCRs
- Euthanizing animals and preparing tissue
- Making common buffer/solutions and maintaining lab stocks of chemicals


Qualifications
Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Office software. Must be detail oriented and work as a team player. OMRF has mandated the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, excluding those with an approved medical or religious accommodation, as a condition of employment.
