Position Description

Rider University invites applications for the Director, Student Accessibility & Support Services.  This individual will develop, direct, and provide services for students with all disabilities. The Director will assist and advise the University in all aspects of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Fair Housing Act, and applicable state laws.
 
Specifically, the individual will be responsible for:
 
  • developing and directing the provision of services to students with disabilities;
  • coordinating disability-related services with existing support programs and other offices;
  • working cooperatively with non-academic offices on campus to provide accommodations and support services beyond academic adjustments, including environmental adaptations and technological and/or auxiliary aides; and 
  • conducting educational, training and awareness experiences for the campus. 

Position Requirements

·         Graduate degree, master’s level in learning disabilities, education, or related field
·         Five years’ experience in working with students with disabilities at the college level
·         Administrative experience
·         Strong interpersonal skills

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

·         Doctorate preferred
