About This Role:

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Veterinary Assistant. The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Patient Intake/ Floater Veterinary Assistant. The purpose of this position is to provide quality client services during the morning patient drop-offs and during the day providing help with patient care throughout the hospital as needed in various departments. This position will provide help with patient intake, transporting patients throughout the hospital for a variety of services, aiding VHC veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Nurses in the performance of their duties to improve the efficiency of the hospital and improve client service experience. The hospital's mission includes the requirement of providing quality medical services to clients and training for professional veterinary students. Client services must be provided in a professional manner since first impression of service quality must be established at the time of initial contact to facilitate customer satisfaction, goodwill, and repeat customer business.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma
One year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant providing patient care
Preferred Qualifications:

Two or more years of experience as a veterinary assistant providing patient care
Ability to handle, restrain, and provide medical treatments to domestic animals
Experience in a client services position (i.e. sales or customer service)
Other Requirements:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$13.96 - $20.55 per hour
