PERFA 42, Introduction to Tech Theater
The Performing Arts Department seeks an instructor for Perfa 42, Introduction to Tech Theater, for the Fall 2022 term.
This course will be taught on the Moraga campus, in person, on Thursdays from 9:45am - 11:20am during the 2022 Fall term.
Course Description: This course covers the basics of the theatrical production process, welcoming students with little or no experience to the world “behind the scenes.” Topics covered include: roles in the production process; basics of tool use and scene shop safety; introduction to carpentry and stagecraft; basics of electrics, sound and costume/wardrobe; and fundamentals of working on stage crew.
Required Qualifications: An MFA in Technical Production and 3 years of experience working with undergraduate students. The successful candidate will have experience in a culturally diverse classroom setting, the ability to create a student-centered, interactive and collaborative learning environment, and a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
Candidates must reside in California.
