Responsibilities
The Donczew lab seeks a motivated individual for a position of a Research Technician. This opportunity is open to candidates with different levels of training including individuals who just begin their careers in science. Candidates will gain experience in a broad range of experimental approaches and will be expected to provide substantial contributions to the ongoing lab activities. Research projects in the Donczew lab will uncover fundamental mechanisms of eukaryotic transcription with important implications for understating the basis of both healthy and disease states of human cells.

Main responsibilities of the candidate will include:
• Everyday laboratory maintenance tasks
• Pursuing individual research projects under the direct supervision of senior colleagues
• Critical analysis of results and decision-making about the next steps
• Presentation of work at laboratory and departmental meetings
• Assistance in preparation of manuscripts for publication

Candidates will be expected to perform their duties with limited supervision after appropriate training and time in the position.


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree typically in one of the biological sciences or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience.Familiarity with basic lab techniques.Ability to multitask and effectively manage time.Ability to work in a highly interactive and collaborative environment.Curious mind and strong motivation to seek answers to biological questions highly relevant for human health.OMRF has mandated the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, excluding those with an approved medical or religious accommodation, as a condition of employment.
